Community leaders in the UK city of Birmingham are working to defuse tensions following the deaths of three men during this week's riots.
A Sikh community TV station has played an important role in the last few days by encouraging new levels of participation journalism, and urging communities to come together.
Although using a different style, an Afro-Caribbean radio station has also pushed forward the same message, with community leaders emphasising the fact that the riots were not race-related.
