Police in London say they have arrested 160 people over a weekend of riots and looting sparked by the fatal shooting of a man by police.
The unrest is still ongoing, with a group throwing stones at the police in the last hour.
The unrest began in the north London neighbourhood of
Tottenham, on Saturday following the killing of a black man by British police. It spread to nearby Enfield and Brixton on Sunday night.
However, politicians say neither racial tensions, nor poverty, justify the riots and vandalism that have followed the killing.
Al Jazeera's Barnaby Phillips, reporting from Brixton, says that the vandals seem young. "[Just] teenagers getting their kicks".
