Power shortage scorches Iraq summer

It has been a sizzling summer in Iraq, with temperatures hitting above 50 degrees Celsius. But most Iraqis get only four or five hours of electricity a day, forcing them to resort to various measures to keep cool.

Adding to the problem, the electricity minister was sacked on Sunday, allegedly over deals that breached government regulations.

Jane Arraf reports from Baghdad, Iraq's capital, on how people are coping in the intense heat with a severe power shortage.
