Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Turkey's prime minister, has been elected for a third term, with the results of Sunday's parliamentary elections suggesting that the ruling Justice and Development Party has won more than half of the votes cast.
But the AKP looked to have fallen short of its target of 330 seats, which would have allowed it to press ahead with its plans to rewrite the country's constitution.
