Study Says Monday Not the Only Depressing Day - as part of the news series by GeoBeats.
Songs have been written on this subject and there's not much debating it - for most of us, Monday is the least likely day of the week.
However, scientists now have data from a recent study that says this notion is not entirely true.
Data was collected using 340,000 telephone questionnaires in a nationwide survey.
The study published in the Journal of Positive Psychology reveals that our moods on Mondays are not that much different than on other days of the week including Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. We may merely perceive Mondays to affect our mood much more, given the shift in our routine from Sunday to Monday.
Professor Arthur Stone of Stony Brook University notes - "Cultural myths may vastly over-emphasize actual day of the week mood patterns."
However, as expected, those surveyed reported more positive moods on Friday, Saturday and Sunday
So what do you think - does Monday have a different feeling than say Tuesday or Wednesday?
