Serbia's incumbent president Boris Tadic looks set to face the right-wing opposition leader Tomislav Nikolic in a second round of presidential elections.

Preliminary results show that Tadic's party has 26.8 per cent of the vote, compared to the opposition's 25.6 per cent.

The outcome of the elections will help determine what Belgrade's position in Europe is likely to be over the coming years.
