Emergency workers in Turkey have rescued a fifth survivor in 24 hours from the earthquake rubble.

As the death toll nears 500 people, rescuers say the chance of finding anyone else alive is diminishing.

Turkey's prime minister, Recep Tayyip Erdogan has responded by promising a new city for Ercis residents after admitting that it made errors in its initial response.

Al Jazeera's Anita McNaught is in the town of Ercis.
