Erdogan's ruling AK party wins vote

The ruling AKP Party was aiming for 367 seats, for a two thirds majority to unilaterally push through a new constitution.

But it secured only about 50 per cent of the vote - or 326 of the 550 seats in parliament.

Its biggest opposition group is the Republican People's Party or CHP which won 135 seats.

The National Movement Party or MHP captured 53 seats. And Independent candidates backed by the pro-Kurdish party picked up 36.
