Typhoon Kai Tak leaves a trail of destruction after battering southern China over the last two days.
The typhoon made landfall in the southern Guangdong province on Friday.
Authorities there had evacuated nearly 19000 residents and called more than 51,000 fishing boats back to shore.
Kai Tak is the fourth typhoon to hit China since early August.
The storms have affected millions, left 51 dead and 21 missing, state media said.
