In Ukraine more demonstrations as protesters call for the group's freedom.

In Sydney people showed their solidarity with a punk music tribute and a call for artistic freedom.

(SOUNDBITE) (English) PUNK ROCK DRUMMER, RAY LALOTOA, SAYING:

" Sisters of ours in punk music they've been put into jail for speaking their minds and that's what art and music is about, expressing how you feel and you shouldn't be going to jail for doing that."

A small band of supporters in Manhattan offered musical commentary on the sentence.
