New Yorkers fall under the watchful eye of David Beckham as six 10-foot statues are unveiled around town.
The nearly naked figure is to promote the soccer star's new bodywear collection at clothing store H&M.
Beckham fans and curious onlookers crowded the statue located in the city's Flatiron district.
Company spokesperson Jennfier Ward calls the stunt a very social activity.
SOUNDBITE: Jennifer Ward, H&M spokesperson, saying (English):
"We have had people all ages here from little children all the way up to elderly men and women. And both men and women are appreciating the statue. So, they just think it's really fun to share on their Facebook page and Twitter and Instagram - you know, it's a very social activity."
Those who upload their pictures to the social media site Instagram will have a chance to win one of 100 miniature Beckham figures.
Statues are also on display in Los Angeles and San Francisco.
