Man Tries To Carjack Vehicle Filled With Federal Officers - as part of the news series by GeoBeats.
There’s no shortage of less-than-bright criminals. Case in point - Joshua Carter from Louisiana. On August 1st, the 25-year-old attempted to carjack a car stopped at a red light. He began hitting the window and trying to open the door, but he made a crucial mistake; the vehicle was an undercover police car containing two federal agents and a state police detective. Once Carter realized the car was full of officers, he ran from the scene, however officials chased and arrested him. A U.S. Marshal’s Office representative says “To us, it's kind of comical. It's the kind of thing a police officer almost wishes would happen to him so somebody in the general public doesn't become a victim.”
In another case involving not-too-smart criminals, two carjackers requested a church van driver to take them to a jail to visit an inmate, but the stops that the driver had to make first were taking too long, so the two men beat him up and stole the van, driving it directly to the county jail where they were apprehended.
