When I interviewed her in 2009, Mary Jane Adams was the last living survivor of Garnet, a Montana gold mining town which had its heyday in the late 1800s. It's now called Garnet Ghost town, one of the best preserved Gold Rush towns in Montana. Mary Jane has since passed away, but fortunately she was able to leave this little legacy behind--a short narrative telling us was it was like growing up in a mining town during the gold rush.
