Mom Finds Rusty Razor In Jolly Ranchers - as part of the news series by GeoBeats.
With many recent reports concerning sharp objects in food, it may be a good idea to double-check any edible material before it goes into your mouth. A Santa Clara mother of two, Amy Hu had a nightmarish discovery while trying out a new candy, Jolly Rancher Crunch 'N Chews. She found a rusty, dull razor blade partly covered in white tape. She says the package, which was bought from a local grocery store was completely sealed. Hu contacted the police and the candy manufacturer, Hershey, who is now looking into the incident. She states, “They offered me three bags of candy replacement and I was like, I don't want anything. I just want to know this isn't going to happen again. I just want to know that kids are going to be safe.”
Several weeks ago, foreign objects were found in Delta Air Line meals. Passengers on four separate flights discovered needles in sandwiches that were being served. Officials claim the object resembled a 'sewing needle', prompting the FBI and Netherlands' authorities to get involved in the investigation.
