Kenyan police arraigned Venezuelan embassy official Dwight Sagaray before the country's high court on Monday.
He was summoned in connection with the strangling death of Venezuela's ambassador to the country at her Nairobi residence.
She was found dead on her bed under unclear circumstances.
Sagaray has not been charged as police continue to investigate the motive for the killing.
The first secretary was arrested last weekend as a suspect, though the details behind the murder -- and his possible connection to it -- remain a mystery.
