Mali's interim president has announced new top-level government positions, in a bid to end the country's political crisis.
In a speech broadcast on state television, Dioncounda Traore called for the creation of two vice-presidential posts, and a national council of transition.
He also called for the people to unite.
SOUNDBITE: DIONCOUNDA TRAORE, MALI INTERIM PRESIDENT, SAYING (French):
"Given the complexity of this crisis and the depth of the distress of our people from the north, but also all the citizens in the rest of the country, as national actors, as patriots and democrats we must together, I say together, clear the path we will follow to free our country from all these invaders who sow on their tracks desolation, deprivation and pain."
Traore's comments come three months after the West African nation was split following a coup.
A transitional government was formed to usher in elections and deal with separatists in the north.
But it has been criticised for achieving little.
The interim president returned to Mali on Friday (July 27) after a lengthy stay in France.
He was recovering from injuries sustained in May when a pro-coup mob broke into his office.
