US concerns grow over Iran nuke plans

As concerns grow that Israel may be moving towards an attack on Iran's nuclear facilities, the Obama administration finds itself under pressure not just from Israel, but US politicians.

A group of Senators, mostly Republicans, is calling for Barack Obama, the US President, to take a firmer, and more public stance over the nuclear dispute with Iran.

More than a third of the US senate are sponsoring a non-binding resolution that lists all the reasons Iran is a threat.

They warn that time is running out and urge the President to reaffirm that the US position is to "prevent the Iranian government from acquiring nuclear weapons capability.
