"The most important thing to do after being arrested for a DUI is contacting an attorney. The quicker you contact the attorney the quicker we can start working on the case, getting hearings scheduled, getting the driver's license hearing requested and scheduled, getting the evidence gathered, obtaining the video, and just getting all the things we need to do to defend the case. Getting those into play, that's the most important thing.
Sometimes people will just delay and they won't have the money or they think they don't have the money to go and fight this case. Sometimes they feel like they're hopeless. They feel like there are no defenses. They feel like "you know what I probably should be convicted for DUI. I was out on the road, I was drinking, I probably should be" but that's not always the case.
I would say let the attorney look at the case. Contact the attorney. There may be payment options available. There may be defenses that the driver doesn't see or isn't aware of.
