Kittens are irresistible, cute and cuddly and there are millions of cat lovers across the world. So imagine the outrage when someone hoards the soft creatures and then fails to take care of them. In a sad report, California investigators discovered 113 deceased kittens in an apartment, all thought to be under the age of 2 months. More than 50 sickly cats, believed to have been stolen off the street were found at a nearby home after a tip informed officials that some of the animals had been moved. An official for the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals states “The cats were living in extremely horrible conditions. They were separated into two groups and locked into rooms with little to no ventilation. The floors were saturated in urine and feces.”. The living cats were treated and the alleged hoarder remains publicly unidentified, however the Monterey County district attorney is reviewing charges of animal cruelty.

In another heartbreaking report, 40 cats were removed from an Arizona home. Mesa Animal Control was tipped off by the cat owner’s daughter, leading to the seizure of 22 grown cats and 16 kittens. The animals were frail and had suffered respiratory problems.
