Imagine having an ATM spit money your way - who wouldn't like that. Did you know it actually happened - sort of. An Ipswich cash machine in England began spewing out what witnesses called ‘free money’ on Tuesday. The ATM glitch caused the machine to dispense double the amount that the customer requested. It didn’t take long for a crowd to gather; around 30 people were waiting in line to try their luck. A resident called officers to report arguments among the crowds and police stayed on the scene until an employee from Lloyds TSB arrived and powered down the ATM. In an unusual twist, an official from the bank said it would be difficult to trace the withdrawals and it was doubtful that they will attempt to recover the cash.
In another case of pleasant surprises, a Florida woman found 18 hundred dollars sticking out of a Chase Bank ATM machine. The honest lady found the money on a Sunday when the bank was closed so she called 911 and waited for police to arrive so she could hand over the currency.
