Earlier this year tens of thousands of Brazilians took to the streets waving brooms symbolising their hopes to sweep corruption out of their country.
The country's president, Dilma Rousseff, is facing pressure over corruption in her administration, having had six of her ministers resign over corruption allegations, and with a seventh possibly on his way out.
Among those who resigned was the powerful chief of staff, Antonio Palocci, accused of using his position to illegally enriching himself.
