This is the Ecuador/Colombia border region, inundated by flood water after torrential rain caused two rivers to burst their banks.

The torrents have left three Colombians and one Ecuadorian dead, and damaged over 1,000 homes.

"What can you do? We cannot do anything. We have lost all that we had."

The rain started last week and prompted Ecuador to declare a state of emergency.

The South American country is susceptible to flooding and landslides, with 10 fatalities and almost 5,000 residents evacuated since January due to heavy rainfall.
