The violence has taken its toll on the Mexican border town of Ciudad Juarez where even children have been targeted.
That culture of brutality has led some of the youth to also respond with violent behavior.
But one program is trying to make a difference by giving children at risk a reason to hope.
One hundred and fifty children are now learning music through this program, and they all come from poor, often dangerous neighbourhoods. |
But parents and teachers say that the program is taking the kids off the streets.
