STORY: Fires raged in the hills of the Serra do Caldeirão, Tavira and Sao Bras de Alportel in Portugal's Algarve overnight on Saturday.
Six firefighters suffered minor injuries fighting the blaze.
The fire destroyed five houses, and injured six firefighters according to Portuguese TV RTP.
Tavira experienced the most serious fires and more than 900 firefighters from across the country were sent to fight the blaze.
They are being supported by 239 vehicles and have backup from army troops.
