Hundreds of people have abandoned their homes as forest fires intensify in Portugal.
The country's southern Algarve region had suffered from a severe drought this year before being hit by temperatures of up to 40 degrees Celsius.
Around 900 firefighters from throughout the country have been battling the fires, which began on Wednesday.
