Dolphin Carried Dead Baby for Days - as part of the news series by GeoBeats.
The bond between a mother and child creates a physical and emotional attachment. That love surpasses everything in the world but it’s not just humans that experience these feelings, animals can feel them as well. A dolphin swimming the seas near China was caught on video carrying her dead baby on her back for days. Fisherman and tourists watched as the rough seas caused the baby dolphin to fall into the water several times, but the mother would continue to pick the calf up and move through the water. It is believed the nurturing dolphin carried her baby for three days, causing a local fisherman to say, “Just like human beings, dolphins also have feelings. A mother's love is noble and moving”.
Domestic animals and their owners have a similar emotional attachment. Recently, a woman's pet cat in New Hampshire has returned home, traveling a remarkable 6 miles from the local animal shelter. The cat was placed in the shelter after one of the elderly owners became ill, but the pet escaped and showed up back home a few days later.
