Town Changes Name to Bikinis - as part of the news series by GeoBeats.

A Texas entrepreneur, Doug Guller, has purchased a piece of land in rural Texas that was for sale on Craigslist, and has named it fter a restaurant chain that he owns called Bikinis. The so-called “breastaurant” franchise has a special place his heart because it helped him earn his first million dollars. “Bikinis, TX will be a world-class destination, and I am thrilled to expand the Bikinis brand to include town ownership,” says Guller. “There could not be a better way to put Bikinis on the map…literally.” Guller wants to turn the now barren town into a location for annual festivals and events. The Bikinis franchise has already expanded outside of Texas and Guller has plans to open about 50 Bikinis restaurants all over the United States by 2017.

Guller had been planning on purchasing some land for the past year or so when he came across what was formerly Bankersmith, Texas located in Kendall county, which is a two hour drive from Austin, Texas. The town had a population of about 40 people at its peak in the 1920’s.
