Gunfire in Syria's capital Damascus.
This amateur video purports to show clashes between rebels and government forces, as the violence continues for a fourth day - marking the fiercest fighting in the capital since the revolt against President Bashar al-Assad began in March last year.
Reuters can't independently verify the video, mostly due to restrictions on journalists in Syria.
Activists said an army barracks came under rebel fire around 7:30 am -- not far from Assad's "Palace of the People".
This video footage broadcast by activists purportedly shows fire in the barracks overnight as a result of an earlier mortar attack, although residents reported hearing no
explosions.
Rebel fighters have called the intensified attacks in recent days the battle "for the liberation of Damascus".
