Farmers from 46 villages in Sangli District protesting in Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan’s hometown in demanding what is their right and what was promised over 17 years ago. They pledged their land in 1997 for the construction of Marathwadi Dam. The farmers claim Maharashtra Government is yet to compensate and rehabilitate them.
