Tire Tread - Fisher Honda and Kia - When to replace your tires

2012-07-13 22

Hi I'm Robbie from Fisher Auto, and today I'm going to be showing you how to measure your tire's tread depth using a quarter. So you want to insert the quarter upside down, with the head first into the tread. And as you can see, it goes down about halfway on his head, which is a brand-new tire - about 10/32 tread depth. And if it gets up to the top of his head, that's about 4/32, which means are needing to be replaced soon. And you want to measure this in two different spots, about a foot apart. And that's how you measure tread with a quarter.
