Long Tailed Keywords
So what keywords should I look to use in my campaign?
We have already learnt about general keywords and the inherent problems they cause for any successful business' online advertising campaign.
The keywords you use depend very much on what business you have and how big your budget is. Longer tail keywords are a good reflection of a user's increased desire and motivation to find goods or services that he/she specifically wants.
Why are longer tailed keywords much better for my hip pocket and campaign?
Typically speaking, users who are searching via longer tailed keywords have not found what they wanted using general keywords. So in most cases they have added extra words or phrases to define their search. Because of this, longer tailed keywords have a higher conversion rate and that means they're more likely to sell your product. In summary, the consumer is far more researched and conversion prone when they have added a number of terms to their search. As a result, businesses should aim to rank highly for these consumers.
So can I target these keywords?
You most certainly can, however it takes in depth keyword research and business understanding to correctly target the right conversion friendly keywords. When choosing the correct keywords, you must identify the ones that have a realistic chance of ranking in a SEO campaign as well as maintaining your budget for a PPC campaign. In most cases, this is the difference between a mediocre digital marketing campaign and a very successful one. So choose wisely.
