Being a responsible pet owner includes having your pet spayed or neutered. Having your pet spayed or neutered benefits your pet's health as well.
Studies have shown spayed or neutered pets usually live longer. Dogs live one to three years longer and cats live three to five years longer.
Spaying females decreases the risk of developing tumors of the mammary gland, ovaries, or uterus. Males should be neutered before they reach sexual maturity. This eliminates the risk of testicular cancer. The risk of males developing prostate cancer in the future is decreased significantly.

Dogs that are not fixed do their best to roam the streets when in heat. Your female may attract males into your yard. Your male will try to escape your confines to find a female to mate.

Your dog's safety is in jeopardy while he is roaming the streets by possible car accidents, fights with other animals, or even getting kidnapped and taken from your home. Avoid these potential problems with a simple medical procedure.
