Stones for the shallow - Wrath of Eidola (official video)

Local Heavy Metal band, Wrath of Eidola asked me to make them a music video for their new single “Stones for the shallow”…It had been a while since I did any serious video work, but I was super keen to get back into it. Shot this using a nikon D7000 at an abandoned resort here in Okinawa Japan…

I really wanted to make a raw looking video for this track, it is a song denouncing soft sell outs in the heavy metal world and so my main goal was to capture the bands hard edged passion. The location was such a challenge, we had so much equipment to get over fences and across rubble that before we even began setting up we were all dripping sweat. We set up the band in one large room that was probably a restaurant back in the day, shot a few takes of the band playing through the entire track, this was where we ran into our first challenge. With all the gear and prep involved none of us remembered to bring a cd player with speakers loud enough to make it over the roar of Ganaha on his drums…in the end, Ganaha san played the track on his iPhone and the band just went at it…They did an amazing job, you can really appreciate how much time this band spends perfecting their performance, when take after take they are keeping time…really impressed fellas!
