Floods kill more than 100 people in Russia's southern Krasnodar region.
Overnight the area was hit with the equivalent of two months' rainfall in just a few hours.
Some victims were electrocuted while others drowned, in what one official is calling the worst flooding in 70 years.
Russian television reports show damaged homes and roads that are practically unmanageable. Crude oil and grain shipments have been halted from the Black Sea's largest port.
The Krasnodar region, with its coastline and high, wooded mountains, is a popular holiday destination for Russians. While the summer travel season has just begun, it is not clear if any tourists were killed.
President Vladimir Putin is expected to visit the region to inspect the damage and meet residents, some of whom have criticized the rescue operations.
