Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow review of Klonoa: Empire of Dreams from Namco for the Game Boy Advance. Released in 2001, Klonoa: Empire of Dreams was Klonoa's first appearance on a non-Sony console. To move to the Game Boy Advance, Klonoa would have to drop its 2.5D perspective, becoming an everyday 2D platformer in the process. Would losing that 3D feel, which was always a defining characteristic of the series, hurt Klonoa's handheld debut? The answer, fortunately, is a resounding...not quite. Klonoa's ability to grab enemies and use them to execute his trademark double-jumps is intact, and it's as fun as ever...even in a flat perspective. This video review features video gameplay footage of Klonoa: Empire of Dreams for the Game Boy Advance and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek.
