Emergency personnel respond to a chlorine spill in Tbilisi, where more than 70 residents are being treated as a result of exposure to the chemical accident.
The Emergency Ministry staff worked throughout the night washing away the leak from the 800 litre tank of chlorine.
Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili visited one of the city's hospitals, which treated 30 of the affected residents.
One resident retold his story.
(SOUNDBITE) (Georgian) ZURAB BICHIASHVILI SAYING:
"We were driving and stopped for a minute to buy something. I almost fainted as soon as I got out of the vehicle. I did not hear anything, and cannot remember anything."
Police have launched an investigation into the incident, but authorities believe the accident was caused by negligence of safety measures in handling the toxic substance.
