A Chinese volleyball coach blamed controversial animal feed additive Ractopamine is after his team lost to the US team in the 2012 FIVB World Grand Prix. After losing 3-0 to the US and ranking 5th, the Chinese team came under criticism. Yu, the Chinese team coach stated that his player hadn't eaten meat for three weeks in fear of ingesting Ractopamine, and this lead to lower endurance, cramps during the games, and their eventual loss.
