Bashar al-Assad, Syria's president, says he is not willing to accept any foreign solution the conflict in his country.

His assertion comes as joint United Nations and Arab League Envoy Kofi Annan has been pushing for the acceptance of a new proposal involving the formation of a unity government.

Speaking during an interview on Iranian state television, Assad said that only Syrians know how to resolve the crisis in the country.
