Technicians in Orbiter Processing Facility-2 at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida removed space shuttle Atlantis' left-hand orbital maneuvering system, or OMS, pod during three days of work, Oct. 19 - 21. The pod will be transported to Kennedy's Hypergolic Maintenance Facility for initial cleaning. Both OMS pods will be sent to White Sands, N.M., where they will be prepared for display on the shuttle.

Atlantis' OMS pods will be returned to Kennedy and reinstalled on the shuttle before it is sent to the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex in 2013 for public display.
