Union Minister Virbhadra Singh has resigned from the Union Cabinet following corruption charges that were framed against him for allegedly misusing his office when he was the Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister in 1989. Virbhadra met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today (June 26) and handed over his resignation letter. Virbhadra said he resigned to avoid embarrassment for the government.
