A Syrian MIG 21 fighter pilot has landed his plane in Jordan where he is seeking political asylum.
It is reported a Syrian Air Force colonel made an emergency landing in the Russian-built aircraft at King Hussein Air Base in Mafraq, close to Jordan's northern border with Syria.
