Memramcook Fire Department responded to a car accident in the east bound lane of the Trans Canada Highway 2, between Memramcook & Sackville @ 12 noon . There was a off duty medic on scene first and it was a possible D.O.A. District 4 RCMP were on scene and had one lane blocked off. Strong winds and a very badly rutted highway , but the road was dry, at time of the accident. There was a Ambulance on scene, but left and Firefighters covered the vehicle. I spoke to a RCMP member that told me to leave the area , but he did confirm, that there was 1 person dead and the only occupant of the vehicle. This is a straight stretch just past exit 492 the last exit to Memramcook and the Walker Road exit almost to Sackville NB about 40 km's east of Moncton. Emergency crews are still on scene @ 2pm.
