Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow review of Thor: God of Thunder from WayForward Technologies and SEGA for the Nintendo DS. Thor: God of Thunder is also available for the Nintendo Wii, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Released in May 2011 to coincide with the major motion picture of the same name, Thor isn't at all what you're probably expecting on the DS. WayForward has taken a different approach than you normally see from movie-based games. Thor is a 2D beat 'em up on the Nintendo DS. You move through horizontal levels, beating the crap out of monsters along the way. Although it doesn't sound compelling, you'll be surprised by just how much fun it actually is. WayForward deserves serious credit for not only making a movie-based game good, but for making a brawler that doesn't get too repetitive or stale. This video review features video gameplay footage of Thor: God of Thunder for the Nintendo DS and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek.
