Deer breaks into basement apartment, Moncton

2012-06-18 36

Codiac R.C.M.P. Officers responded to a call that a deer broke a window in a basement apartment and landed inside the building shortly after 5 P.M. The deer jumped back out of the window and took off towards Kingsmere Court. Blood and hair from the injured deer could be seen on the window casing and on the wall of the apartment. Nobody was inside the apartment when the deer went crashing through. D.N.R. was contacted and R.C.M.P. searched the area for the deer. The apartment building is on McLaughlin Drive in Sunny Brae area of Moncton. A neighbour told me that there are 5 deer that hang around the area and in the mornings you can get almost close enough to pat them. This is just next door to where a Moose ran through a gardening center last year.
