Revered as Shri Jagannath Mahaprabhu, the lord of Universe, locally known as Neela Madhava, represents Krishna as the incarnation of Lord Vishnu. The Puri Jagannath temple is famous for its annual Ratha Yatra, or chariot festival, in which the three main temple deities are hauled on huge and elaborately decorated temple cars.
Vishnu is said to grant Moksha to his devotees, but here, the worship of the Trinity is said to grant all worldly gifts, apart from the final emancipation.
