Victims of a shelling in Deraa, Syria receive treatment in a makeshift hospital.

This amateur video, which cannot be independently verified, reportedly shows residents injured by government shelling.

A human rights organization said the attack, which took place overnight, killed at least 17, including 10 women.

The group also claims another 44 civilians and 25 soldiers were killed in Friday violence.

Some 300 U.N. observers are in Syria to monitor a supposed truce between President Bashar al-Assad's forces and rebels.

The ceasefire was announced mid-April -- but never took hold.
