North Korea's Kim Jong-Il body lies in state

North Korea's heir apparent has led a delegation of military officers and dignitaries to pay their respects to Kim Jong-Il.

The body of the late leader is lying in state in the capital, Pyongyang after passing away on Saturday.

In South Korea, the government extended its condolences - a day after it put its military on alert in response to the North Korean leader's death.
