Police in Britain have now arrested nearly one thousand seven hundred people after days of rioting.

During an emergency session of Parliament, Prime Minister David Cameron warned: "all of those found guilty of crimes should expect a jail term."

British cities are recovering from four nights of riots and looting that shocked the country, the trouble mainly hit London, but other cities also suffered.

More than 900 people have been arrested in the capital alone, with more than 400 already charged.

It is hard to estimate the costs but insurers think they will have to pay out something like 320 million dollars.
