Philippine peace negotiations resume

The Philippine government will resume talks with Communist rebels in Norway on Tuesday. The talks were last held six years ago.

The New People's Army, which has been waging a guerrilla war for more than 40 years, declared a temporary truce during the negotiations.

But, as Al Jazeera's Marga Ortigas reports from Manila, recent developments have cast a shadow over the talks.
