In North Korea, thousands of children were on their feet and clapping as they welcomed leader Kim Jong-Un to a concert.
There were flowers. All wore the communist youth uniform of a white shirt and red scarf and bestowed Kim with one.
The festivities in Pyongyang took place as a U.S. based advocacy group accused the reclusive state of using a caste system to rank citizens based on their political backgrounds.
The Committee for Human Rights in North Korea report also accused the government of using punishing those deemed disloyal to the leadership.
Earlier in the week, North Korea threatened to attack South Korea's media outlets for suggesting Kim was using the children's event as propoganda to cement his leadership.
Two hundred thousand children were transported from across the country to the capital for the 66th anniversary of the Korean Children's Union.
